Although, a lot of work is undertaken by volunteers, some work is paid, due to the nature of the work and the skills/experience required on a contractor basis.
Apart from the role of Organist for Sunday Services, these are appointed for specific ad hoc work undertaken, eg for an event, such as a Wedding or a Funeral or at set times of the year, eg gutter cleaning, grass cutting, annual heating inspection, and PAT testing for example.
A fixed fee is paid for the work agreed, upon production of an invoice, inline with Charity Law and church regulations, payment is made by bacs or cheque by the relevant church.
The Benefice sets the fix amount we are willing to pay for the following tendered services:
– Organist services
– Bellringing services
– Verger services
The rate paid for this work is reviewed annually.
